Trust me —- you can’t go wrong in this shop!
I live in Upper Peninsula Michigan now, but still crave the bread, soups, sandwiches and treats. When I come back to visit, this is a place I make sure I make time to stop in to!
PS: I’m not really a fan of tomato soup… but THIS tomato soup is absolutely delicious! And it will re-set the bar (a LOT higher) to judge all other tomato soups against!
When you get bread to go, either plan to eat it right away or freeze it, because they don’t put chemicals and stuff in it to extend the shelf life. It’s bread, and nothing else. Life the way it should be 👍🏻
The chicken pot pies…. oh! my! heart!!
(it will also re-set your future expectations)

Great Cranberry Chicken Salad sandwich! You can get half or a whole sandwich. Comes with chips too. It was the perfect amount to split & not be too full while we shop.
The bread was fresh, soft, & tasted wonderful. Everyone was extremely polite & helpful. Overall a great place to grab a bite. We’ll be back.
.. do keep in mind that there is very little parking for this place. But there is plenty of parking all around it.
Friendly staff & good sandwiches although they were pricey given their modest size.
Beautiful sunday they had a band playing in a gazebo. Upon noticing the line pressed up to the door i thought id listen to music let the line dwindle a bit. Covid and whatnot didnt want to make ppl uncomfortable squeezing in. Was met with several passive agressive comments from what i assume was the owner or manager about customer only parking. He needs to learn how to treat ppl and patrons with respect and maybe not make assumptions about ppl. Take your business elsewhere! Rude!
Their soups and sandwiches are amazing! Everything is very fresh.
****EXPENSIVE SANDWICHES AND VERY GOOD BREAD****
The bread here is definitely homemade and 5 star quality. The sandwiches on the other hand…enh. In short, they are VERY over priced for what you get. It’s very simple. Not in a bad way though. Just something a person could easily make at home. It’s not like there is some amazing secret to them or ingredient that will make it unforgettable. They have minimal topping and are rather skimpy (just being honest). I definitely recommend the bread! The staff were very nice also. We did not try the desserts, as we wanted to go elsewhere for that. However, they looked tasty.
I didn’t find the service friendly. The Navy Bean soup, no flavor, small portions. The sandwich dry, and small. The inside was dark and dreary almost. Go to Fish Creek Market for sandwiches , piled high sandwiches, tons of ingredients, comes with chips and a cookie, the owners takes pride in their sandwich making, reasonably priced too! Skip this Macready place…
Went with family on a random Sunday, and was pleasantly surprised! LGBTQ+ friendly, terrific service, and great bread! Would recommend!
I LOVE THIS PLACE! I always have to get their egg salad sandwich. Nice family business.
Amazing little bakery. Michael and Sarah are wonderful. Whever I stop in to say hi it’s like stopping to talk to friends. Truly made from scratch bakery and sandwiches. The bread is out of this world good. Crusty on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. The baked goods are delicious as well. A muat stop when in DC.
